Tips on Booking a British Sign Language Interpreter
Here I have listed some information that you may find useful when
booking an interpreter, a FAQ's section if you like. If you are
an employer or employee and your requirements are 'work related'
then it may worth checking out the Access
to Work website as you may find that you are eligible for funding
to pay for some or all of the costs of an interpreter.
|
The first thing to remember, is that interpreters
are bound by a strict
code of conduct so anything that is discussed before after
or during the assignment will be held in the strictest confidence. |
|
When booking an interpreter give as much notice as possible.
In the case of a short notice/emergency appointment it may
be useful to have more than one date/time in mind. |
|
How long is the appointment? Assignments over 2 hours
may require 2 interpreters. However this is dependent on the
nature and content of the assignment, please feel free to
contact me to discuss your requirements.
It may also be useful to remember that appointments involving
any type of interpreter often take longer than normal and
this should be taken into account when scheduling the booking. |
